This was a total impulse purchase, since I am a mascara junkie and couldn’t resist the $3 price tag. Jane Hi Fiber mascara sounds like a health nut breakfast cereal, but what it claims to do is “make lashes Xtra Long, Xtra Lush, and Xtra Thick! Contains gentle, clump-free fibers that cling to lashes for a natural false eyelash effect. Lasts with no smearing or smudging.”
I tried Basic Black, though according to the Jane website, this mascara also comes in colors like Just Chill (blue) and Purplex (purple, as if you couldn’t figure that out.
What was that about no smearing, clump-free, and no smudging? Hardly. The wand comes out of the tube loaded with so much excess mascara, I had to blot it on a tissue. It still went on my lashes clumpy, and even after curling and combing my lashes, they just looked so-so.
I give this mascara 2 stars out of 5. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t really love it either. It was just sort of there, ho-hum, yawn. The only thing that would make this mascara worthwhile is its availability of different colors, though the store I was in only offered black.
For $3, I guess I got what I paid for, a minimally performing mascara that didn’t impress me much.
The only other Jane product I have ever tried is the Megabites Flavorful lipstick in Megaberry, a color that an ex-boyfriend found insanely sexy. According to the website, this particular color is still available…so, where do I order?
