Christmas Shopping

The trouble with Christmas shopping? Finding a million things for ME instead…here are some of the items I am coveting right now!

This flocked sweater jacket comes to us from Coldwater Creek: Crafted from wool with velvet flocking, this jacket is a mix of bold, professional, feminine, and unique that I love. It would go great with these Jessica London peep-toe oxfords:

I couldn’t find a larger picture of these shoes, which is a shame, because the red oxford with black trim is gorgeous. For the more faint of heart, these shoes also come in basic black, brown and bone.

No wish list would be complete without something leopard-print! This Bijou tassel tote comes in black or leopard, my two favorite colors:

On the make-up front, I just noticed that e.l.f. has added a new line called Sugar Kiss. Part of this collection is a set of glittery eyeliners in a color combo called Shooting Star that I’d love to try:

For $1 per set, these would make cool stocking stuffers for all make-up junkies who need a quick fix!

Jessica Simpson Fancy Perfume

Given that I consider Jessica Simpson one of the most annoying and literally over-exposed individuals in creation, I didn’t expect much when I first took a whiff of Fancy, one of her perfume concoctions. I actually smelled it first in one of those little scents in a flap in a magazine, and damnit, much as I didn’t want to like it, I did. A lot.

So when I came across a teeny-tiny bottle of Fancy for next to nothing at a discount retailer, I went ahead and begrudgingly bought it. I instantly got compliments, from my boyfriend, co-workers, and even one of my stepkids, who simply said, “Ooh, you smell good!”

Fancy is a mix of gardenia, pear, apricot nectar, red fruit, and jasmine, mixed with almond, vanilla, caramel. Well, there you go! Anything with caramel is heavenly. No wonder I like it. All it needs is a few notes of eau de whipped cream.

As for staying power, it doesn’t hang around as long as I’d like it to, my most common complaint about fragrance. It’s not overpowering, though, and a great scent for work, weekends, dates, pretty much anywhere.

It’s a warm, captivating scent that leaves me wanting to try Fancy Love, Jessica Simpson’s most recent perfume. I give Fancy 4 out of 5 stars, missing the 5th star for the lack of longevity and staying power that I value in perfume. For $50+ a bottle, I really expect it to stick around a good bit longer than it does.

Sephora’s LashStash Mascara Deluxe Sampler

When I saw an advertisement for Sephora’s LashStash Mascara Deluxe Sampler, I damn near hyperventilated. Like crack for a mascara lover, this sampler offers deluxe sample sizes of ten different mascaras from brands including Urban Decay, Benefit, Smashbox, Sephora, Tarte, Cargo, and more.

For $39, this is a great way to sample so many different brands without being stuck with a full-size bottle you are not so thrilled with.

If mascara isn’t quite your thing, Sephora also offers:

Sephora Favorites Lip Service Deluxe Sampler

Sephora Favorites Radiant Skin Regimen Deluxe Sampler

Sephora Favorites Glitz & Glam Shimmer and Shine Deluxe Sampler

Sephora Favorites My First Makeup Kit Deluxe Sampler

I already know what is at the top of my Christmas wish list…
