My Wish List: e.l.f.’s Punk Funk Eye Shadow!

Every now and then I check out e.l.f.’s website, since the hick town I live in doesn’t offer any stores with these products. I’ve used their Brightening Eye Color before, and I was impressed with the pigmentation and lasting power of an eye shadow quad that ran a buck. (Granted, the triangles of color are very small, but come on, we’re not using a shovel to plaster the color on, are we? A little bit lasts a while.)

I was rounding up a refill of my favorite color combo, Silver Lining (a combination of purple, pink, and ivory), when I noticed that e.l.f. has added some new color combinations. My favorite of the newbies is Punk Funk, pictured here. Bright purple, hot pink, and intense purple! Not for the faint of heart, but exceptional, vivid colors, great for the upcoming summer season.

If you decide to pick up your own Punk Funk, or anything else from e.l.f.’s site, remember to search coupon codes! I am using CAROLINA for 50% of my entire order. Just enter “coupon code e.l.f.” into your search engine and take your pick.

My Wish List

Here are some items I’ve spotted and would love to try!

1. Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion: Sin:

I saw this on Sephora today. According the product description, “Sin combines incredible staying power with a shimmering champagne hue that complements almost any eyeshadow. This two-in-one beauty miracle can be worn alone to give eyes just a hint of tint for when you’re in a hurry or in need of that “no makeup” look.”

I love the regular Eyeshadow Potion, and this one got excellent reviews.

2. Avon Spectra Lash Mascara:

This reminds me of Maybelline’s old Dial-a-Lash! According to Avon.com, “With the innovative spectra dial, you can customize your lashes to build volume for any occasion or mood. More volume. More options. No clumps or flakes.” The mascara comes in black, brown, black/brown, and navy.

I’m a sucker for new mascaras but will hold off on this one until there are some reviews posted. Has anyone tried this yet?

3. Oscar Blandi Trattamengo al Fango Not many products get a full five-star review on Sephora.com, but this intensive hair conditioner is deeply loved by everyone who raved about it. I’ve tried one other Oscar Blandi product, the Jasmine Smoothing Conditioner, and it was a lifesaver after a nightmarish perm gone wrong. VERY wrong. It didn’t provide a miracle fix for the bad perm, but it made my hair softer, smoother, shinier, and healthier-looking, a minor miracle after being butchered at the salon.

4. Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain:

I saw these at Walmart and am dying to try one. I have a love/hate relationship with lipstick and lipgloss. I love the touch of color and shimmer on my lips, but I hate having to reapply and fuss every time I drink, talk, eat, etc. I end up falling back on trusty old lip balm instead of digging out the lipstick and a mirror from my purse every time it needs to be reapplied.

Cover Girl claims these lipstains “give lips a beautiful, lightweight flush of color that won’t come off, lasting for hours without the heavy look or feel of an ordinary lipstick. Its pen-like precision applicator makes it easy to define your lips-just draw on color without any hassle!”

The reviews on CoverGirl.com are hardly positive, though. Has anyone tried these to give us an opinion?

My Sephora Wish List!

One of my favorite sections of Sephora’s website is Airplane-Approved Beauty. I hate to fly, so it has nothing to do with a fondness for travel; I just love the mini-sized products and the smaller, “try-me” price tags of items in this section.

I’d love to try Cargo’s Color Cards (above), flat cards with eye shadow embossed onto them. Each box contains 28 cards with different colors.

Also on my wish list from Cargo is their Daily Gloss, a 30-day supply of lip gloss in tear-away pouches. There are 10 little bubbles on each sheet and 3 different colors of lip gloss.

Next up is Carolina Herrera’s 212 Sexy roll-on perfume, one that I’ve actually tried already. This is one of favorite perfumes, a rich, “seductive blend of captivating tangerine, bergamot, and rose pepper sprinkled with floral petals, gardenia, and hints of cotton candy warmed with musk”, according to the product description. It has a warm, sexy, very alluring scent, and it lasts a long time. I prefer a spray bottle to a roll-on, but this is great for in your purse or when you are travelling.

For make-up that does double duty, there’s Clinique’s Perfectly Happy Duo, with Clinique Happy fragrance roller-ball at one end and a Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine at the other (one has Peach Plum, the other has Pink Champagne). Sephora also has this type of item with other fragrances, like Vera Wang. For $25, it’s a great way to carry two items at once in a streamlined package.
